We participate each year in the Taste of Mira Mesa by contributing donated items for baskets to be silent auctioned off at the event in April. All proceeds are given back to our program! We are in search of items to be called “A Taste of Italy” this year. If you would like to contribute any items, we are looking for the following: Organic Pasta, Italian Seasoning Mix, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Le Preziose Sugared Fruit Jellies, Whole Mixed Olives, Gourmet Salami, Gourmet Crackers, Small Wood Cutting Board, and/or Wine.

Any donations can be brought to Mrs. C or bring to the Parent Meeting on March 28th (especially the wine, please wait until the meeting). Thank you!

In the Director's Corner

The SDUSD Honor Concert was great! It takes a team of people to pull off this event. We were honored to host Dr. Jeffrey Boeckman from the University of Hawaii for our band rehearsals on Friday and Saturday. Mr. Mulvaney conducted this year's honor orchestra and did a wonderful job with the group. Between band and orchestra, we had 74 students participate in the two ensembles. Congratulations to all! A very special thank you to the Flight Crew who took our percussion instruments to the Civic Theatre Saturday night and brought everything back on Sunday evening after the concert. We are so fortunate to have dedicated parents throughout the Sapphire Sound program!

Parents and students of the Wind Ensemble will have their final Washington DC trip meeting TONIGHT, Monday, March 25th at 6:15 pm. Details of the trip itinerary will be discussed, a packing list will be given out, and other forms will need to be signed.

Spring Break is almost here. Let's have a great week!

All In, Always.

💙💛,

Mrs. C
