Good Morning, Marauders.
We hope you are enjoying your Summer Break.
We are busy planning and preparing for the upcoming school year as well as our back-to-school events taking place next week.
Our office staff is currently off for their Summer Break, so the office remains closed at this time. The Main Office will re-open on Monday, August 15th at 10AM.
Please read this email carefully, and share it with your student(s), as it includes important information for next week and the start of the school year.
*In an effort to make it easier on families, we have split this email into "Class Of" sections so you can skip to the appropriate "Class Of" section(s) to obtain the information that pertains to you and your student(s).
ORIENTATION
Information for All
- Orientation is strongly encouraged but not required
- If students are unable to attend Orientation, they will have the opportunity to go through a modified version of the process during the first week of school and during Picture Make-Up Day in September
- Parents/Guardians are welcome to attend with their student(s) but it is not necessary
- Due to space and flow of the event, parents/guardians who do attend will not go to every station but will be directed to a holding location
- Some stations are indoors
- At the time of publication, masks are required in indoor settings within San Diego Unified School District
- We will have masks available
- One of the stations is for Yearbook/ID Card Photos
- Students will have an opportunity to make purchases at the Finance Office, ASB Store and from the Class Advisor
- All purchases are optional
- Please make checks payable to MMHS
- Cash and Check Only – we are unable to accept debit/credit cards/electronic payment options
- The last station is for Textbook/Material Distribution
- We recommend bringing a bag/backpack for any textbooks/materials that may be checked out

- If you are unable to attend during your allotted time, please come sometime during the Class of 2023 session OR during the Make-Up Session on 8/17 between 12PM and 3:30PM
- Station 1 is located at Gate 4 (Between the 300 & 400 Buildings)
Class of 2024
- Tuesday, August 16th, 12PM-3:30PM
- Arrival times by birth month as shown on the flyer linked above
- If you are unable to attend during your allotted time, please come sometime during the Class of 2024 session OR during the Make-Up Session on 8/17 between 12PM and 3:30PM
- Station 1 is located at Gate 4 (Between the 300 & 400 Buildings)
Class of 2025
- Tuesday, August 16th, 8AM-11AM
- Arrival times by birth month as shown on the flyer linked above
- If you are unable to attend during your allotted time, please come sometime during the Class of 2025 session OR during the Make-Up Session on 8/17 between 12PM and 3:30PM
- Station 1 is located at Gate 4 (Between the 300 & 400 Buildings)
Class of 2026
- Thursday, August 18th, 12PM-3:30PM
- Arrival times by birth month as shown on the flyer linked above
- If you are unable to attend during your allotted time, please come sometime during the Class of 2026 session OR during the Make-Up Session on 8/17 between 12PM and 3:30PM
- Station 1 is located at Gate 4 (Between the 300 & 400 Buildings)
- 9th Grade Students will be exchanging their SDUSD issued laptops.
- Please bring your laptop/charger/etc. for this exchange
SUMMER BRIDGE
Summer Bridge is a special, 2-day, event for our incoming 9th grade students. Summer Bridge is strategically planned to ensure our incoming 9th grade students will be set-up for success and will feel a sense of ownership and belonging as they transition into their high school career at Mira Mesa High School. Summer Bridge will take place, in conjunction with Orientation. The schedule is as follows:
Thursday, August 18th
- Summer Bridge: 8AM-11AM
- Lunch (Provided): 11AM-12PM
- Orientation: 12PM-3:30PM (info above)
Friday, August 19th
- Summer Bridge: 8AM-12PM
- Summer Bridge Tailgate Party: 5:30PM-6:30PM
- On the track near the North End Zone
- BBQ Dinner and Water will be provided for 9th grade students in attendance
Incoming 9th grade students are welcome and encouraged to attend any/all sessions of Summer Bridge. This event is recommended but not required.
Please complete this Google Form to let us know if your student plans on attending 9th Grade Summer Bridge.
